When we realize that we often didn't ask questions ...perhaps we didn't understand it as much because we didn't ask.

And yes, we can also ask God to give us more understanding.

We can pray.

We can wait for the Holy Spirit to lead us to understanding.

There is a problem though.

Often we get a bit confused by whether it is the Holy Spirit leading us ...or perhaps a bit of our excitement & eagerness can influence our beliefs.

Do we believe somewhat what we want to believe??

I believe God provided us with something to help us in not going too far with this ...and it's called the Bible, or God's Word.

(***After listening to a child, then reading again afresh the Bible, there seems to be good reason to believe that the angels were created before ...and the third breaching their loyalty to their Creator, happened before our six-day Creation (which we read about at the beginning of Genesis).  And the end of the angel rebellion could have been "it's lights out" ...as the saying goes.  With the angels singing at the beginning of Creation when the lights were once again restored.

And though God would not necessarily have an affinity to certain patterns within His infinity of creativeness, God does seem to hold to certain patterns seemingly for our benefit ...as we more easily relate to them.  And one of those patterns could be that God could have forbidden Satan to consume one man, Adam, with his subtle divisive thoughts ...as God also forbade Adam to consume one fruit. A limitation for each.

Consider Adam & Eve being sent from the Garden of Eden as the first missionaries of God.  And as missionaries often also teach a trade, Adam could have taught cultivation and farming, among other things, along with his testimony about God.  Those who believed Adam would likely live by a higher standard ...and be considered followers.  While others may be caught up in the beauty of many wayward ways and temptations ...as we are today.  As Jesus later said, it will be like it was in the time of Noah. I am not of the opinion that angels ever mated with humans.  And if so, it would be asked whether angels could be drowned ...(and whether that would be like the Wizard of Oz with the wicked witch wailing, "I'm melting, I'm melting!!", or like the witch trials of the late 1600s, or even earlier in the 1500s with near drowning proving innocence.)  And if angels mated, were they required to admit they were angels ...and obviously, it would be the fallen angels, but why a judgment upon humans who die in a flood, when we know the fallen angel's leader did not die in the flood (as he has been quite active, and tempted also Jesus in the desert).

I believe the sons of God ...are the loyal two-thirds, and also those of us who follow God, both angels and humans with the ability to know God.  And I favor believing the human believers were marrying those other humans who lived the seductive immoral ways, opposed to God's direction (as is also today).

So much to think about ...and though I'd never want to take God's Word for something it's not, it seems that in many ways we have already done this through the ages.  So, looking to what it means today, should have no less joy than it did all those years in the past. And if we don't imagine beyond the truth, but stick to what the Bible says ...so much more can still come alive, as it often does through the eyes of a child. ***)

One final note:  If there are writings that we feel are not authentic enough to be in the Bible, then why would we formulate some of our beliefs around those other descriptions that are not written in the Bible??
